AOC announces five new AMD FreeSync 240Hz gaming monitors

AOC announced some new gaming monitors with VA and TN panel tech. The company is leaving 140Hz behind and moving well into the 200Hz territory for refresh rates, whilst keeping resolutions anchored at 1080p for high frame-rate, butter smooth gameplay.

The 240Hz G2 series comprises of the C32G2ZE, C27G2ZU, C27G2ZE, 24G2ZU, and 24G2ZE. The 32- and 27-inch monitors come with VA panels, while the more affordable 24-inch screens use TN tech. Interestingly, all the displays come with AMD FreeSync.

The C32G2ZE, C27G2ZU, and C27G2ZE have a high contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a wide color gamut of 120% sRGB, 89% AdobeRGB, and 85% NTSC. This should make them quite the compelling purchase at this price point. The ZU models are better equipped with built-in 2W speakers, and a 4-port USB 3.2 hub. The ZE models are considered “essential” monitors with all the baseline specs.

All the new G2 panels will come with the same borderless design, as well as Low Blue Light and Flicer-Free technologies. HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 will be present. Prices for the C32G2ZE, C27G2ZU, C27G2ZE, 24G2ZU, and 24G2ZE will be £329, £299, £279, £289, and £269, respectively. The first three displays will launch in June, while the 24-inch panels will arrive in July. No word on U.S. pricing or availability just yet.
