Dell announced the refreshed XPS 15 (9500) alongside several other new products today. The XPS 15 features several design elements seen in the recentXPS 13, including thinner bezels and a 16:10 display. It also has bumped up internals, with options for up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i9-10885H processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. The new Dell XPS 15 is available starting today for $1,300.

Dell enhanced the premium look and feel of the XPS 15 with a four-sided InfinityEdge display. The 15.6-inch display has a 16:10 aspect ratio and is available in up to UHD+ (3840 x 2400). The display hits 100 percent Adobe RGB and 94 percent DCI P3 color gamut on the UHD+ variant. It also has anti-reflective coating and reaches 500 nits of brightness, so it should be clearly visible in most settings. Dell went with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the XPS 15 to improve durability.

Below the display, the XPS 15’s keyboard has keycaps that are 9.7 percent larger as well as a trackpad that’s 62 percent larger than previous models. The keyboard is bookended by top firing speaker grills with Waves NX Speakers. The XPS 15 has a twin-coil press fit hinge that should make it easier to open without having as big of a cut out at the top of the palm rest.

On the inside the XPS 15 features a 10th Gen Intel Core processor, ranging from the Core i5-10300H to the Core i9-10888H. You can choose between Intel UHD graphics and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 for modern connectivity. While the body of the XPS 15 is 8 percent thinner than previous models, Dell states that it has the “same thermal envelope as before,” including dual fans and heat pipes, and hidden exhaust vents in the hinge.

The entire body of the XPS 15 is made from two blocks of aluminum. It’s sculpted using CNC and features Carbon fiber in the palm rest.

Dell states that the XPS 15 can hit up to 25 hours of battery life.

The XPS 15 is also labelled with the Dell Creator Edition badge. Devices with this badge are designed to meet the workflow of creators, including photographers, graphic designers, and other types of creators. The XPS 15 has several features that help creators, including a full SD card slot for moving files around.
