One of the major trends these days is the addition ofdark mode to apps and software. It seems that the tech giants are once again inclined to bring darker colours to screens. A few days ago it was Microsoft that upgraded its mail and calendar app to dark mode. Now, it isGoogle Chrome‘s turn to be uplifted to dark mode most likely in April 2019.

Chromeis a vast browsing platform. Its parent website, Google, regularly introducesnew changes to Chrometo keep it up to date and intuitive.

According to the latestnewsfrom the tech world reports the implementation of dark mode onGoogle Chrome. According to the reports,Chromenewest version 74 will offer system-wide dark mode on bothWindowsand macOS.

This new version 74 is expected to hit the screens in April 2019. At the moment, it is in the Canary release stage, but it alreadysupports dark modeon bothWindowsand macOS.

The dark mode can be enabled on bothWindowsand macOS by changing thethemesettings to dark. Changing thethemesetting to dark enables the system-wide darktheme. However, some computers could notactivate the dark modein the Canary release. Canary is the early test version ofChrome.

The dark mode changes thecolourof the screen and text. It turns the screen dark and the text white. Similarly, the dark mode on theChromechanges thecolourof its downloads page, search bar and settings.

The screens once again are being rapidly transposed to dark mode because of the less harmful effects of this mode on eyes. It is favourable for working in dim environments. Moreover, it contains less blue light and enhances the readability of the text.

Once the dark mode is officially released withChrome74 version in April, there would be options to enable or disable it.
