It’s that time of the month for Xbox users, as Microsoft rolled out its monthly patch for security and improvement on Xbox’s consoles. This time in theApril 2023 update, Redmond officials rolled out adjustable active hours power settings.
With the Xbox April Update, if you have the Sleep power option selected on your Xbox, you can configure your console active hours, which default to “always active” unless you change them. During your selected active hours your Xbox will boot quickly and be available for activities like Remote Play and mobile game installs.
To sum it up, this feature allows the console to automatically shuts down instead of sleep when you turn it off outside those active hours. You can adjust them manually or let the system pick them for you automatically, depending on your playing patterns.

How to adjust your active hours on Xbox

Press the Xbox button on your controller

Go toProfile & system➜Settings➜System➜ Updates.

Once updated, restart your console and press the Xbox button again.

Go back toSettings➜General➜Power options.

If you select theSleeppower option, you can now adjust active hours. From theAdjust active hoursdrop-down, selectManuallyif you want to do it manually or the other option if you want to let the system do it for you

Select the start and the end of your active hours.
In the meantime, Microsoft has also made its commitment to green gaming loud and clear by launching acarbon-aware downloading mechanismback in February 2023. In short, when the console is on and connected to the internet, the system will schedule updates for apps and games at specific times during the nightly maintenance window.
