For those of you who have finally installed theWindows 10 October update, it is now possible to use the new split view feature forSkype. As bringing back split view was one of the most requested features, this will be a welcome return for many.
How to enable and disable split view
To enable and disable split view, you need to select it in the ellipsis menu (the three dots on the right where your name is). Once you enable it, the big window on the right will disappear, leaving only the smaller, narrower window where all your contacts are.
To be honest, I wasn’t really overly excited about this. Maybe because I am not a bigSkypeuser, so I don’t remember the time whenSkypehad the split view.
However, after playing with it a bit, I can certainly see why people like it. I particularly like that you can have as many windows as you like open. I’m not really sure why I like it, but I do.
Mind you, if you useSkypea lot, I’m assuming that if you have split view enabled, every time someone new calls, a completely new window will open up. I can imagine that might become quite annoying.
OneDrive will also be coming to Skype
On a related note,Skypeis also testing a new feature which will allowsharing of OneDrive. At the moment, only Insiders have access, but this will certainly be another useful feature to have.
So, some goodnewsforSkypesplit view fans, and I only mentionedWindows 10October update once. Still, the day is young.
What do you think? If you’re aSkypeuser and are using the new split view, tell us what you think. What else would you likeSkypeto bring back? Answers in the comments below, please.
