A brand new trailer forLike a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Namedebuted at Summer Game Fest as part of theE3 2023announcement season.

This next in line in the long-running Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise sees the return of Kazuma Kiryu, and is launching November 9 forPS5,Xbox Series X|S, PS4 andSteam.

This stopgap Like a Dragon title looks to take place between the events ofYakuza 6andYakuza: Like a Dragon, and appears to tell the tale of what happened to Kiryu after the former, as his fate remained ambiguous at best.

It’s a return to real-time action combat, whereasYakuza: Like a Dragonpivoted to an interesting turn-based format. Either way, it’s always great to receive more Yakuza content.

It seems like the events ofLike a Dragon: Gaidenwill lead up to the events ofLike a Dragon 8,which is due to launch sometime in 2024, and will continue the story of new series protagonist Ichiban Kasuga.

Fans can also pre-orderLike a Dragon: Gaidento receive the Legendary Fighter Pack, which includes iconic series characters Daigo Dojima, Goro Majima and Taiga Saejima. Though it’s unclear what roles these guys will play in the final release as of yet.

It’s of course not the onlyLike a Dragontitle to be launching in 2023. In February, RGG Studios releasedLike a Dragon: Ishin,a long-requested remake of the previously Japanese exclusive game.
