We finally have a title and a tentative release window for the next Yakuza game:Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The RGG Studio game was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase, part of the not-E3 2023announcement season.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealthwill continue the story of new series protagonist Ichiban Kasuga in Early 2024. So expect the game between January and April at the most likely.

Unlike many announcements at the Xbox Games Showcase, it doesn’t seem likeLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealthwill launch day one onXbox Game Pass. However, most of the Yakuza games have been on the subscription service, so it’s likely this latest one will, too eventually.

Hilariously, Kasuga seems to have found himself washed up, completely nude, on a very Miami or California-looking beach. Very much unfamiliar territory for both him and the series in general, and I’m excited to see how he’s ended up here from the end ofYakuza: Like a Dragon.

The trailer is excellently paced, finding plenty of creative ways to cover up Kasuga’s private parts, be it a newspaper, sea snail or a strategically placed bottle of sunscreen. It’s not long until passersby notice Kasuga in his birthday suit, and the trademark RGG Studio hilarity ensues.

And… that’s all we got for the full reveal ofLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, previously known in teaser form asYakuza 8.From that original teaser, we know that both Kasuga and series mainstay Kiryu Kazuma are both returning. And this latest trailer not only reveals the game’s full English title, but also cements Kasuga as the returning protagonist.

Given Kasuga has found himself in a completely new location, it’s unclear if old favorites will be returning. Whether that be oldheads like Majima and Saejima, or members or Kasuga’s party including Nanba and Saeko.

In any case, I’m looking forward to Kasuga’s next chapter, as well as stopgap gameLike a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which is launching November 9 this year.
