With the recent updates toMicrosoftTeams, including thenew features on Android, the tech giant is trying to expand its platform and to make it available and more user friendly for more customers.
It seems like their efforts don’t stop here, asLinuxcould get aMicrosoftTeams app in the future.
Microsoft Teams could land on Linux in the future
It’s not the first time when this is speculated, but now a Twitter user calledunixterminal has shared an update to aMicrosoftTeams UserVoice page:
It looks likeMicrosoftis about to release@MicrosoftTeamsforLinux. The UserVoice has been updated to “stay tuned” and aLinuxapt repo has been created:https://t.co/byJ6y2vUXa#Linuxcc@Daniel_Rubino@JoeRessingtonpic.twitter.com/7TSUbc56Ru

ALinuxapt repo has also been created, but for now it’s empty.
Microsoft Teamsis now available on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. The “Stay tuned for more information soon” message from aMicrosoftTeamsengineer suggest that we will see it inLinux, as well.
We’ll just have to wait and see ifMicrosoftis seriously considering aTeamsapp forLinux.
It’s worth mentioning that Slack, Team’s main competitor, already has aLinuxapp and this might be just enough to determineMicrosoftto create its ownappforLinux.
