Minecraft for consoles to get Battle mini game, more modes to come

Microsoft announced the introduction of ‘Mini games’ forMinecraft: Console Edition, which will bring a new way for players to play the game. The first Mini game that Microsoft promised to arrive is Battle, where players will be able to fight against each other. Battle forMinecraft: Console Eddition will be available in June for free.

Battle Mini game will change the multiplayer concept of the game. In multiplayer mode players almost always cooperated to build and survive together, but the new mini game will throw players into a battle pit, where only the winner will survive.

“Battle allows you to set up a competitive multiplayer fight for survival, where speed, strategy- and sometimes just pure luck- will make you the winner.”

Upon starting the game, players will receive randomly generated resources and will be thrown in a specially designed PVP map. Battles are going to be free for all death matches, which means that only the last one left will be the winner. You can play Battle with up to 4 players in split-screen, or up to 8 players online. You can also participate into public matchmaking, where you’re going to get random opponents.

Battle mini game will be available in June (no release date was precised) to all owners of Minecraft for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and other consoles for free. This is the first of many Mini games Microsoft plans to release forMinecraft: Console Edition.

Mini games should change the wayMinecrafton consoles is played, by bringing new modesgameplayoptions. We don’t know what mini game will Microsoft release next, but we’re sure it will be as awesome as Battle. Of course, as soon as Microsoft announces a new mini game, we’ll make sure to let you know about it.
