Key notes
Users started reportingWindows 10 2004 issueshours after the OS update became available for download. Most of these issues are still pending, with some of them preventing users from upgrading their OS.
As such, Microsoft is still looking to resolve glitches ranging fromBluetoothconnectivity to driver compatibility.
Pending Windows 10 2004 issues
Hours before theWindows10 May 2020 Update went live, Microsoft created twosupport pagesfor the OS. Well, today is the 6th of June 2020, and the known issues page is still replete with unfixed bugs.
Unfortunately, the other page for resolvedWindows10 2004 problems is still empty. The situation isn’t all doom and gloom, though. That’s because the company has acknowledged the pending problems and is working to resolve them.
The latest item to enter the list of unresolved problems is aDISM reporting bug.
After using the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM.exe) command /restorehealth to detect and correct system corruption, you might receive a report from the tool that corruption is still present. This can occur even when it has been repaired. An example for using the /restorehealth command is: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth.
The glitch has a temporary workaround, however. According to Microsoft, only the first scan gives an incorrect status of system corruption.
Therefore, any subsequent DISM diagnostics should deliver an accurate report.
Meanwhile, Microsoft expects to deliver a permanent resolution to the DISM issue about two weeks from today.
The only not-so-optimistic news is that some users are still unable to update their PCs toWindows10 version 2004. Worse still, Microsoft has put a compatibility hold on their devices.
Affected users may, thus, not install the latest OS until the company has solved the problems preventing them from doing so.
