Microsoft integrates the power of AI into its Bing search engine. Collaborating with OpenAI, the tech giant brings a ChatGPT-like feature to the often-overlooked search engine to allow it to perform complex searches and tasks.

While it’s not out for the public yet, Microsoft has rolled out a waiting list for those interested. The list is long, but you can sign up & get ahead by setting Microsoft defaults on your PC and installing the Bing mobile app.

However, several users reported that they’ve been locked out of the feature even after receiving a confirmation email that they’re in for the new Bing.

“I received the “you are in” mail of new bing. But when I accesshttps://www.bing.com/new, it only says I can join the waitlist so I tried to join again and I joined successfully. I then tried to ask questions to bing and chat with it since it says I’m on the waitlist. I tried to opt out the waitlist inhttps://www.bing.com/waitlist/optoutto resolve this problem but received “An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later.” I think this is a bug. Will I ever be able to access the new Bing?”

The bug is annoying, considering how highly-anticipated this feature is. Some other users even reported thata pop-up message saying “Something went wrong. Please try again”always comes out whenever they want to enlist themselves for the waiting list.

How can I fix the Bing waiting list bug?

1. Private browsing

Open your Microsoft Edge browser.
Click on the vertical ellipsis on your upper right screen ➜New InPrivate window.
With yourInPrivate windowopen, accessthe New Bing‘s website athttps://www.bing.com/newand you should be able to see the new Bing by now.

If not, clickJoin the waitlistagain.

With your Edge browser open, accessthe New Bing‘s website.
Click onSign inon your upper right screen
Fill in your email and password ➜ Next.
AccessThe New Bing‘s website & clickJoin the waitlist.

On theSign inpage, clickCreate one!instead
Fill in your desiredemailandpassword➜ Next.
Finish the captcha verification until it saysVerification complete.
The New Bing window will pop up. ClickJoin the waitlist.

On the other hand, Google has also rolled out its answer to the growing competition in the AI world,Bard. It simplifies complex searches using Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) and is currently being tested by several select users.
