New ThinkPad X1 Carbon, Yoga, should drop ‘very soon,’ Lenovo says

Lenovo announced some new hardware this week, including theThinkPad P14s and P15sas well as theThinkCentre M70, M80, and M90. In addition to announcing those new devices, Lenovo added a little tease regarding thing ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 and ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 5. Lenovo states that these two new laptops are “coming very soon.” Lenovo also adds that the newT, X, and L series laptopsare coming very soon, though we already knew those would arrive in Q2 2020.

“Very soon” doesn’t add much clarity when it comes to a release date, but it’s more specific than what we knew before. When Lenovoannounced the refreshed laptopsat CES 2020, the company only specified that the laptops would launch in 2020.

The refreshed ThinkPad laptops are powered by 10th Gen Intel processors and feature several privacy options. At CES 2020, Lenovo announced that the X1 Carbon starts at $1,499, and the X1 Yoga starts at $1,599.

Both laptops feature 4K Dolby Vision and support Dolby Atmos. They can each reach 500 nits of brightness, so they should be clearly visible in almost all settings.
