A brand new remake has been announced forPersona 3atE3 2023. EntitledPersona 3 Reload, the upcoming title looks to be a complete overhaul of the original cult classic. According to the gorgeous new trailer, the game will be available “early 2024”, including satisfying turn-based combat and RPG elements updated for a modern audience.

Persona 3is among thebest RPGsever made. ThoughPersona 5catapulted the series to new heights of notoriety, it was withPersona 3that a wide range of the beloved mechanics found inPersona 5got their start.

Persona 3follows a group of high-school students doing their best to cope with death and emotional trauma. They form a special group to investigate a mysterious supernatural phenomenon called The Dark Hour. During The Dark Hour, you will journey to the eerie tower of Tartarus and battle sinister Shadows in order to get to the bottom of the occult mysteries at the heart of the story.

Though it’s early days, it looks likePersona 3 Reloadis likely to be a faithful recreation of the original, rather than a market departure likeFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. However, this isn’t to say that there won’t be more content on offer in the final version. We may well see additional voiced dialogue as well as new music tracks and enemies. Though we don’t know exactly what changes to expect, yet, it seems likely that ATLUS will introduce at least one or two goodies to keep series veterans happy.

Persona 3 Reloadis also likely to include the option to play as a female protagonist, as introduced inPersona 3 Portable, which was released for PlayStation Portable in 2009. For those wanting to givePortablea go, a remaster is available onNintendo Switch,PS4,Xbox Series X|S, andXbox One.

Persona 3 Reloadwill be available toXbox Game Passsubscribers on release day.
