Fans of the popular video game Rocket League have another game mode to look forward to, so brush up your basketball skills because this is going to be a wild ride.
The developer of Rocket League, Psyonix, announced the addition of a new game mode simpy known as “Hoops.” The new mode should be rolling out right now to Xbox One owners of the game and from what we have seen so far, this mode should be a fun one for all players.
HEADS-UP: We’ll start rolling out the “Hoops” update for PC, PS4, and Xbox One around 4pm PDT / 7pm EDT! Get ready for dunking!

The free update was set for an April 26 release, but Psynoix released it a day early and surprised all the fans. Bear in mind that once the game is installed, players will be able to check out a new space called “Dunk House” along with a cool NBA flag for your car.
We’ve seen Hoops in action and it looks very fun. It is pretty much the same as the core experience with the main difference being a basketball hoop. It makes us wonder how long the fun will last since it doesn’t come with any redeeming features to keep players coming back for more. In the end, basketball fans may be the only ones to be playing this mode in the long term, while all others will likely continue playing the regular mode.
The new mode is available right now for Xbox One and Windows PC as a free download.
