While using windows 8 skyrim worked amazing, i switched to the preview and it still worked perfect. EVer since the full release of 8.1 skyrim literally launches to black screen then never does anything, no waiting for application, no auto close, just sits and never changes, ive gone though my settings configured them the right way with my monitor and my computer can easily handle this game it just seems to be windows 8.1. I even tried to play it using compatibility mode. I have also tried to re install it, launch w.o mods and dlc with no prevail. Ive also noticed a lot of 8.1 users having major issues with this game as well as similar games.

So, first of all, before upgrading to Windows 8.1, you need to know that there’s a high chance your saved games will be deleted. Secondly, you need to make sure you have ALL the latest drivers in place. Personally, for me, the game was flickering all the time in fullscreen, but not in window mode, so when I downloaded the latest graphics drivers, the problem has been fixed.
