A very unusual issue occurs while trying todownload updates for Steam,usersreport. It seems that after thedownloadreaches a certain point, it starts going backward, leavingusersunable to complete thedownload.Steambreaks downgames/updates into small 1MB chunks. When anupdateis released,Steamanalyzes files, working out how to build the necessary files from those small chunks.

Fortunately, we came up with a series of fixes that impact other causes.

1. Check your internet connection

2. Reinstall Steam

3. Clear download cache

4. Allow Steam to run through Windows Firewall and disable antivirus

5. Change the download region in Steam

6. Repair Library folder
