If UPS says delivered but no package, you might have a hard time getting to the bottom of things. Should you start investing or assume your parcel is yet to come?
In other words, does UPS ever mark delivered before delivering? On rare occasions, the status can indeed be updated todeliveredprematurely. So it’s recommended to wait for a few days more.
Why does UPS say delivered when it’s not?
UPS clients, for instance, sometimes get the status that the package has been delivered, but they have not actually received the parcel.
Things are pretty easy if you see this status.
Namely, when the UPS driver completes thedelivery, the package’s tracking status or adeliverynotice (the UPS InfoNotice) should indicate where it is (UPS left at residential, at the office, etc.).
The big problem arises when UPS says delivered front door but no package is to be found.
What if UPS says delivered but no package?
According to UPS’ terms, shipments that don’t require a signature can be left in a safe place. This place is left at the driver’s discretion, but it can include various areas around the house (porch, garage, etc).
If the shipment requires a signature, in most cases the package is entrusted to a neighbor.
If you still cannot locate the package, you should contact the sender to initiate a trace process with UPS, and then follow up with you on the progress of your shipment.

Amazon clients, on the other hand, have complained of a similarly confusing tracking status:your package was left in the mail room.
If you’ve ever had to deal with FedEx, you might notice the similarities between this instance and theshipment information Sent to FedExcase.
In most cases, clients mentioned that they were either at their residence the whole day, or that they have no specificmail room.

It turns out that for Amazon, themail roomcan mean, besides a physical mail room at the respective address, a leasing agent or office, or just the area around your mailbox.
Consequently, Amazon advises their customers to check around the house/deliverylocation (porch, mailbox, back garden, garage).
In most cases, clients mentioned that the parcel was left outside, with no other notice.
Additionally, if you don’t find the package, check with the neighbors. And, as mentioned above, wait for a few more days before taking further action.
